One of the highest moments in the city’s tourism industry occurred in May 2023 when the world came to San Antonio for the IPW 2023 conference. The city experienced remarkable success of IPW 2023, which surpassed pre-pandemic attendance from key markets such as Mexico, Canada, Brazil, and Australia. The event generated an impressive $13.56 million in economic impact, showcasing the significance of the tourism industry in our destination. With 470 appointments conducted with buyers and media, IPW provided an invaluable platform for networking and business opportunities. The collaboration of more than 300 local business partners and organizations with Visit San Antonio ensured the curation of exceptional experiences highlighting our city’s most cherished assets. The closing event, Let’s Texas, saw the participation of 19 city/destination partners alongside Travel Texas. Immersive tours were organized for 730 international media and buyers, enabling them to discover the essence of our destination. The dedication of over 602 volunteers, contributing 684 shifts and 2,400 hours of volunteer time, showcased the spirit and support of our community. Furthermore, 1,474 gift cards were distributed to buyers and media for the Festival Del Rio pre-parade dining, promoting local businesses. It is worth noting that all IPW 2023 events were certified gold as “Green Events” through the City of San Antonio’s Office of Sustainability, highlighting our commitment to environmental responsibility. These achievements collectively demonstrate the resounding success and positive impact of IPW 2023 on our destination.
San Antonio CityPASS:
CityPASS travelers now have another destination to choose from! As they kicked off the new product one week prior to IPW in May, San Antonio was added to their list of top destinations to select from when planning a vacation. Their pay-one-price discounted bundle of tickets has been a hit with budget-conscious travelers, so much so that they are now active in 16 destinations. They continue to work with top attraction partners to offer a product that their customers find value in. CityPASS travelers appreciate not only the savings they get through their pass but also the memories they’ll make and treasure for years to come. Travelers can choose from seven premiere attractions:

Get Your Guide:
Visit San Antonio launched a holistic destination campaign to the German market, leveraging a multi-channel campaign with Get Your Guide. Headquartered in Berlin, Get Your Guide has grown its marketing presence throughout Europe and is one of the leading platforms for destinations to showcase their experiences direct to the consumer. They have grown exponentially in the United States market, and San Antonio has the strongest presence and largest generator of revenue in Texas. The campaign launched in late May and will continue until the end of July where Modern Explorers, Get Your Guide’s target audience who seek unique experiences around the world, will see rich content and storytelling through a German-speaking social media influencer, Meta and Google Ads, inspirational videos through Instagram and evergreen landing pages, highlighting the destination. The campaign will help San Antonio grow its brand presence in the German market and capture consumers at the top of the funnel for awareness and consideration tactics.
